Personalized Attention
With TestQuest, the child is our #1 focus. In the privacy of a family’s own home, the child will receive every minute of a teacher’s attention. No matter what the child’s needs are, TQ’s individualized tutoring methods will raise test scores and boost self-esteem. In this distraction-free atmosphere, our tutors are able to provide focused attention with detail to each child’s specific learning style and needs.
Convenience and Flexibility
When a parent chooses TestQuest, he/she is able to set a tutoring schedule that is convenient and flexible to the needs of their family. Each child is entitled to 40 hours of services. Sessions can be scheduled for after school, evenings, weekends (Saturday and Sunday!), and during holiday vacations. We can also send bi-lingual tutors (Spanish and other languages) or tutors with specific expertise upon parental request.
Comfort and Safety
We feel that the home environment is the safest and most comfortable learning environment for a child. In this familiar setting, a child is more likely to absorb knowledge and will be more comfortable asking questions. Often, as a student’s skill levels rise, they will be more confident in school and will be motivated to retain these improved academic skills.
Family Bonding and Learning Together
We always encourage parents/guardians to be a part of the tutoring sessions and learn alongside their child. The tutor then functions as an educational bridge between parent/guardian and child, reinforcing academics as a collective family priority. This academic model not only fosters positive parent-child relationships, but also makes learning both fun and rewarding for the whole family. A parent showing their child that his/her educational experience is important to them can make all the difference!
Experience and Results
Most teaching professionals recommend one-on-one tutoring as the best method for improving a child’s academics. Our results indicate that the children in our program, on average, improve one grade level in both Math and ELA scores.
It important to also remember that improvement is not only measured through test scores. A child receiving home tutoring is also going to benefit from having a positive adult role model sit individually with them every week. This intimate experience often allows children to gain confidence and develop a greater interest in school. Research has shown that integrating academics into the home or family environment has greater chance for positive outcomes. Though these factors cannot be measured through scores, they can make all the difference. |
